Our Story
Amy and Daniel met in Northern California and immediately connected over their shared love of food. Northern California has such diverse cultures and when they moved to Northwest Indiana, they missed some of the food that California had to offer. Their dream has always been to open an establishment to give back to their community and share their love of food.
Why Lanay’s Luau?
While discussing names for the food truck, Daniel decided that he wanted his food truck to be a homage to Amy, whose middle name is Lanay. During a vacation in Hawai’i, Amy’s mother discovered she was pregnant with her first child. She was inspired by the island of Lanai, that is when she made the decision to use the creative spelling of Lanay.
